Back in August Lauren and I took a road trip out to New Mexico to check out my parents property as a possible wedding location. I finally had a chance to check out the photos from the trip, here’s my favorite so far… More to come.

Costa Rica

Last Monday Lauren and I got back from a nine day trip to Costa Rica. We both had an amazing time, the country is beautiful and the people are very friendly. We spent the majority of our time in Dominical and the surrounding area with a few of our friends, it was great to see everyone again and congratulations to Tia and Randy on their wedding.

Before we headed down I upgraded my camera to the new Canon S90 and couldn’t have ask for a more perfect place to test it out, the camera is basically a pocket sized Digital SLR, with all the features, but without all the bulk, pretty sweet.

All in all Costa Rica is an amazing place to visit and I’m positive that we’ll be going back, a week was just too short… Here are just a few of my favorite photos from the trip, hope you enjoy.

Hoey Cruise – Costa Maya – Port #4

Costa Maya, Mexico

Our fourth and final port of call was Costa Maya, Mexico. Costa Maya was definitely an odd place, it was built out of the jungle only 6 years ago exclusively for the Cruise industry. Then, in August 2007 the whole area was completely wiped out by hurricane Dean. Our ship was only the second to dock in Costa Maya since the hurricane hit and the destruction was still very prominent. I think the most surreal part about the whole place was that while we were amid all the destruction from last year, we could see hurricane Paloma slowly moving across the horizon towards Grand Cayman, a port we had been visiting only days before…

Hoey Cruise – Belize – Port #3

Belize City

Our third port of call was Belize. We were scheduled to go on a cave tubing/zip line jungle safari… But, after almost missing our ship the day before and all the stress involved with that, Lauren and I decided a “Private Island Beach Break” followed by shopping and a few drinks in Belize City sounded like a much better idea… However, my Parents and Sister did go through with our original excursion choice, and apparently it was a lot of fun, I guess we’ll have to check it out the next time we’re down in Belize…

Hoey Cruise – Cozumel – Port #2

City of Cozumel

Our second port of call was Cozumel in Quintana Roo, Mexico. Cozumel was by far my favorite stop, I only wish we could have stayed a little longer. We took the ferry across the channel to Playa del Carmen, and then headed down the coast to the ruins at Tulum. Everything about the place was amazing, Lauren and I will definitely be coming back. The only downside was that we almost missed the last ferry back to Cozumel… we caught it with less then five minutes to spare…
