Iron Beasts Make Great Beauty

I wasn’t sure if this was actually going to happen, but on Saturday it was confirmed. I received a small package on my doorstep and from the packing tape I immediately knew what it was, my complimentary copy of Iron Beasts Make Great Beauty by Studio On Fire. I excitedly opened the package and started flipping through the pages. To my surprise not one, but two of my design projects were printed on its glossy pages; my business cards for Dita Eyewear and my Costa Rica Wedding Invites. Sweet!
A big thank you to Studio On Fire, they are a letterpress studio like no other and I am greatly honored to have my work included in their book. The publication in itself is a work of art worthy of any designers collection, it just turned out amazingly. If you would like to pick up a copy it is available through Amazon.com.

Bad Ass Organics – Website Re-Branding

Bad Ass Babies Clothing recently changed their name to Bad Ass Organics in order to appeal to a larger audience and expand their product line. I created a new website design for them that I hope reflects the re-branding that they wanted to achieve. The re-design was mostly CSS based and very few of the actual core HTML/ASP files needed to be edited. Make sure to check out the new website and maybe pick up a new t-shirt while you’re at it.

Costa Rica Wedding Invites

On April 8th Lauren and I got married in Costa Rica at the Tabacon hot springs. It was all very last minute, back in February we came to a realization that having a big elaborate wedding here in the states just wasn’t for us. So on a good friends recommendation we decided to run away with a few family and friends to get hitched in the shadow of an active volcano… The wedding couldn’t have been more perfect.
Anyways, these are the invites that I whipped up for the occasion. They are 3 color letterpress on 110lb 100% cotton card stock and I’d say that Studio on Fire did an amazing job on the printing as usual, thanks again guys!

The Expendables – Prove It – Linear Photos

Last Sunday I photographed The Expendables at the Roxy on Sunset. After the show, I got a hard copy of their new album Prove It. I was told that they had used some of my photos in the liner notes, however I had no idea how they were used or to what extent. I was very surprised to see how prominently they were displayed throughout the booklet. The photos used were taken last year during their Winter Blackout Tour at the House of Blues – Sunset Strip. The new album is great by the way, check it out, you won’t be disappointed.

Rachid Dahnoun Photography Website

Check out Rachid Dahnoun’s new photography website I developed. www.rachidphoto.com Rachid had a very clear idea on how he wanted his site to look and had created a series of page templates before contacting me to develop his site. I was able to take his templates, clean them up, refine them, and merged them with the Expression Engine CMS software. Building his website on top of the Expression Engine platform will allow Rachid to add new content, blog posts and images without having to know anything about website programing. Overall it turned out to be a beautiful, dynamic, content driven website. We’ll be adding eCommerce functionality in the near future so that visitors can purchase framed prints of his images.
