Mojave National Preserve

Last weekend Lauren and I went out to the Mojave National Preserve to go camping. I had never been out there, and with over 1.6 million acres of open land to cover, finding a camping spot seemed like it was going to be a pretty daunting task. After checking the map, plus a few recommendations we were able to narrow it down to a few regions with a travel route to check out. We ended up finding the perfect spot out on the eastern edge of the preserve. Although it was pretty cold and I think we were the only ones camping out there over the weekend, we’ll definitely be going back.

It got pretty cold at night… At 6:34AM the temp was 24ºF, ice had formed on the top of my truck and pretty much everything else, not to mention that Toki’s water bowl had also frozen solid…
